Makenna Goodman

Makenna Goodman is the author of two critically acclaimed novels, Helen of Nowhere and The Shame. Helen of Nowhere was longlisted for the Booker Prize 2026, and was a finalist for the Vermont Book Award, a Best Book of the Year by Granta, The Paris Review, and The Times, and has been called “a perfect fairy tale for our times" (The Guardian). The Shame was named a best book of the year by the White Review and Harvard Review. She has written for international publications including the New York Review of Books, the New York Times, the Los Angeles Review of Books, BOMB, Harvard Review, White Review, MOUSSE, RA Magazine, and more, and her work is currently being translated into seven languages.
