Daniel Burke is the Senior Editor of Religion & Spirituality at NPR. His writing on religion has won numerous awards, including from the Society for Features Journalism, the National Headliner Award Foundation and the Religion News Association. The American Academy of Religion has honored his work as among the year’s Best In-Depth Coverage of Religion five times. He has made numerous appearances on CNN and NPR, and his work has been published in dozens of outlets, including The New York Times and Washington Post. He holds degrees in religion from Georgetown University and Columbia University and lives in Maryland with his wife and two children.
